A 35-year-old woman was gangraped on Monday in Sohna, Haryana in a horrific ordeal that is believed to have lasted several hours.
According to the woman, three men in a Maruti Swift car kidnapped her around 8 pm on Monday in Gurgaon’s Sohna area. The men drove around on the streets of Sohna for several hours and repeatedly raped the woman.
The car then drove all the way to Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh where the girl seems to have been thrown out of the car near Yatharh Hospital in Kasna. A female passerby noticed the woman lying on the roadside on Tuesday morning and informed the police.
Noida police responded to the passerby’s call, reached the spot and informed their counterparts in Gurgaon.
The woman was taken for a medical examination at Yatharth and as of today early morning, was being taken by the police back to Sohna after completion of legal formalities in Greater Noida.
The woman hails from Rajasthan’s Bharatpur city and came to Sohna ten days ago.
The suspects are absconding and an investigation is currently on. According to news agency ANI, no First Information Report had been registered as of today early morning.
Speaking to ANI, Love Kumar, the Senior Superintendent of Police, Gautam Budh Nagar, said a team of Noida police has been sent to Sohna to probe further into the matter.
Investigators are also procuring CCTV footage from the areas the car may have passed through and are verifying the woman’s statements.
ANOTHER GURGAON HORROR
Monday night’s incident comes a day after a seven-year-old girl was raped, allegedly by a 20-year-old auto driver in Gurgaon.
The minor girl was alone in her home on Sunday when the incident took place. The accused was captured on CCTV cameras leading the girl away.
The rape left the seven-year-old in a critical condition and she is currently fighting for her life at New Delhi’s Safdurjung Hospital.
The 20-year-old auto driver has been arrested by Gurgaon police.
